I think that Tom Muir needs to retire from his position as head coach. It took him 18 years to get to the top of his game that lasted about two years. By watching last years season i feel he should of got out while the gettin was good. I noticed there was also a coaching change at the JV level to this day i still dont understand that dumb move. Who thought... hey lets fire the veteran assistant coach and put in this rookie who cares about the kids as much as Tom does. Between the two of them the might actually "COACH" one or two kids. I really feel sorry for this program and the direction it is heading. With Tom and his mini me Steve running that orginization Grand Ledge could save alot of money and just buy an instructional video for the wrestlers They will get more attention from that than they will from those two. More to follw later
what about all the kids that arent going out for wrestling this year because of the coaches. most of the kids including me dont like hubert and delaney and quit last year or arent wrestling this year. comet wrestling aint what it used to be.

delaney is a very good coach in my opinion but whatever i guess if you don't work hard he's not gonna babysit you. this is wrestling kiddies if you don't wanna work then your coach is not gonna work for you.Holt has tradition it's easy to win when 90% of your team has been wrestling since they could walk. the addition of felice to that staff didn't hurt anything for there team. good luck this year gentlemen. but get off the computer and don't worry about some JV wrestler that will never see time varsity this year
I think Grand Ledge had more than just JV kids quit last year. It is a concern that you guys can't seem to keep a coaching staff together for any length of time. Good or bad the season will speak for itself.
It does seem a bit odd that you guys can't keep a coaching staff together for any period of time. I also believe you had some varsity kids who did not come out for wrestling last year. It also was surprising to me that some of your good kids didn't place well at states. good or bad the results will be in your season record and how many kids you get to states and where they place.
Isn't delaney the kid who got slammed at the confrence meet and then wussed out? what did he ever end up doing in college? I thought I heard he quit MSU and then went to olivet but never started. great stuff to motivate kids with.
I am glad that people are finally speaking out about this team and the poor leadership. I wish now that something could happen to get those two clowns out of the Grand Ledge's program. lets get a couple coaches in there that care about the kids. The thing that drives me crazy is that Steve only wants to work when it is convieniant for him. Like this summer when Steve was suppose to go a couple camps and never showed up! Come on Steve you are only fooling your self. That is also a very nice comment you most likely wrote your self. i would'nt let you two knuckle heads baby sit my kids they would end up dead from lack of attention. You cant have 2 children watching 50 children it does'nt work like that. When a real leader showes up and EARNS the job the wrestling program will be the best around. All the kids need is coaches who care. Dont worry Tyler I wont forget you next time.

Preacher Boy Is Right except for a bunch of us liking Mr Turner better. i liked mr turner as much as everyone else but i also like coach delany and coach hubert. i beleive that they do care about us because if they really didnt, why would they show up to practice at all. plus push us harder and harder to get ready and fit. this isnt a blog to post crap talking about your team beating us FOR SURE. this is a blog to talk about the GL Wrestling club. personally im excited for this season, just to see whats gunna be in store and what happens. as for the coaching change, give the new coaches a chance! I had coach hubert as a coach my first year of wrestling, he really improved me that year, and i think he can improve others too. as for coach delany, he in my mind is a great coach. and to the wrestlers who quit cuz of the coaching change. they must not have the best of dedication if they didnt even give the new coaches a chance. thats all i got to say about that.
I think it was a big mistake to get rid of Turner. He was a great coach. If you look at the program during his tenure along with Buckland who also got screwed over, the team climbed from middle of the CAC to state powerhouse. Bringing Delaney and Hubert home from Everett good or bad they shouldn't have walked over Turner and Buckland. Having wrestled for all of the above the room lacked the intensity it had with Buckland and Turner around. Last year I think there were as lot of loyalty conflicts that interfered with the wrestling. We saw what Delaney did at Everett and give him time I am excited to see what he does at Grand Ledge. GO COMETS!
Delaney's the kid who had his perfect season destroyed by some bastard from Holt who couldn't legitly beat him. I wouldn't call a broken neck wussin out. But he did start and was succesful at Olivet. More than you can say about the Holt kid who was banned from wrestling. Great stuff to build a program on. If you can't beat em break there neck
lets quit calling names on here, what williams did to delaney was just good hard wrestling, everybody knows it. laying down is wussing out. williams would have won that match if it hadnt been stopped by a fairy referee.

what exactly did he do at olivet? He had a full ride to MSU and pissed it all away. That's something to tell your wrestlers.
